THROUGH
TRAVEL AND ERROR
Confessions of an Asylum-Seeking Canadian
There was more
to life than sitting behind a desk pushing paper.
One disgruntled
member of Generation X believed this to be the case and was damned if he was
going to let life slip past him while cocooned by the mild comforts of the "velvet rut". He knew he needed to split or he was going to crack. So, with a
one-way ticket and a lot of misguided confidence, this young Canadian set off
into the unknown world of budget travelling with one goal in mind…a timeless
trip around the world.
He did expect
some learning experiences along the way however, heroin addicts, living in
brothels and working for gangsters were never part of his master plan…and these were all while our determined traveller was still exploring First World Europe…
No one could
have guessed what awaited him on the Dark Continent…
“Through Travel and Error” describes the
honest adventures, philosophies and confessions
of a traveller who decided to say goodbye to everything he knew and hello to the
world that he
didn’t.
Through Travel and Error:
Confessions of an Asylum-Seeking Canadian was released in April, 2008.
It is the first
of series which detail the adventures,
lessons and experiences of my timeless drift across the planet.

ONLINE READINGS
Although I tried to rope in some big names
to read sections of my book, copyright laws prevented me from 'using'
familiar faces. Oh well, I guess you are stuck with me.
"More
Confessions" are my online readings. They should provide you with a bit more
insight to my tales and adventures as well as some of the stuff that I
couldn't write down...

E-books
will ever replace the good ol' fashioned paper books ('Curling up with a
good e-book' doesn't have the same appeal) one does need to keep up with the

MEDIA COVERAGE
So far so good. I
haven't dropped the F-Bomb on air...touch wood. To gain further
insight into
"Through Travel and Error",
as well as yours truly, have a peak a some of the TV and radio
interviews that I have given over the last couple of months.
HOW THE BOOK GOT GOING...I hate group emails. I find them extremely boring.
As a result, I devoted time and effort in composing
what I hoped would be an entertaining story of my adventures on the road. The
overwhelming feedback I got in response to the
Matty's World Tour Updates
inspired me to write more. While living in South Africa, a
girlfriend read a couple of my stories and, knowing the mayhem and madness
that I had got up to on
my travels, suggested I write book.
However, like most suggestions that I had received, I let this
one slide to the backburner...
FAMILY GUY
RE-ENACTMENT
Stewie's comments pretty much sums up
the stagnant state that my unfinished book lingered in for a massive
chunk of time. In fact, I write about my extensive writer's
block and uncertainties about finishing the project in the book's
'Forewarning'.

...It wasn't until I realized that
my career options were running out
that I decided to give this
'writing a book thing' the proper time and dedication. I secluded myself
for three months on
one of Thailand's many
remote beaches and completed the first draft. A few months later, I returned to South Africa to finalize and polish the manuscript..
Feeling somewhat confident, I
returned to Canada to look for a publisher and, as my luck would have, was
successful in doing so.
WHAT'S NEXT...
More Travel Then Its
Worth
(working title) is a project that is on the go and
should be available in
late 2009.
The second instalment, which continues to chronicle my misadventures across the
planet, picks up from where
Through Travel and Error ended.
